Vestry Meeting Minutes
February 21, 2019
The Vestry meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Fr. Tom. Fr. Tom opened with a prayer.
Members Present: Richard Breithaupt, Senior Warden; Don Anderson, Junior Warden; Dave Abernethy, Treasurer; Fr. Tom, Rector, Van Geoghegan, Judy Allen, Charlene Connolly, Dick Emerson, Peter Lund, Lee Perry, Joyce Cashin, and Yvon Hive.
The Vestry members introduced themselves and Fr. Tom asked that we get to know one another.
Fr. Tom plans to have a Vestry retreat on May 11, and the agenda will be announced at a later date. At that time the member’s responsibilities will be decided.
In the Administrative Assistant’s absence, Van volunteered to take the minutes for February’s Vestry meeting.
Minutes & Financials: The minutes were read and unanimously approved. The treasurer’s report was given and no vote was taken.
Reports
The new Financial Committee members will be Jerry Tysiak, Peter Lund, and Dave Abernethy. Don moved and Richard seconded. The vote was unanimously approved.
The delegates at the Annual Convention in October will be Van, Charlene and Judy.
Burton Tucker has said he is retiring as head of God’s Gardeners at the end of the Farmers’ Market season in April. There was a short discussion about hiring a sexton and Fr. Tom said that a job description is needed. Burton will be asked to provide one.
There is a need for a gift acceptance policy.
The Parochial report is due March 1, 2019. The Senior Warden, Junior Warden, Rector and Treasurer will get called on for signatures.
Peter Lund reported about a neighbor of St. Paul’s, Christy Ford, from Estey Avenue, complaining about the traffic the Farmers’ Market creates on Saturdays.
Jeff Page gave his notice that he’ll not be doing the Farmers’ Market next season, 2019-20. Peter Lund gave info on people who could possibly fill his position.
Discussion was held about the dishwasher not being capable of doing what is needed for dinners in a timely fashion. Judy Allen stated that her and Van will go to restaurant suppliers in Fort Myers to see if a better appliance can be acquired. Naples does not have a restaurant supplier that has appliances for kitchens.
The time of the next meeting was set for Thursday, March 21, 2019 at 6:30 pm.
The meeting ended with prayer and was adjourned at 8:15 pm
