New Business
1. Annual Vestry Meeting-
Attendees agreed to hold the annual Vestry Meeting on 3 February 2019
The Diocese-- with a budget surplus of approximately $150,000-- will provide portions of this
surplus to eligible parishes. St. Paul’s is expected to receive $1500 from the surplus. Diocese
has encouraged parishes to use these funds for “local growth” initiatives. Vestry discussed
and decided that we will use the $1500 as seed money for a new electronic sign to replace
existing one.
Father Tom reported that he is close to fully moving into the refurbished rectory.
Father Tom discussed with and received approval from the Executive Committee
to enroll in a leadership course sponsored by Collier County. This course will provide an
excellent networking opportunity for Father Tom.
Burton Tucker is in the process of securing a maintenance contract for our irrigation
system which in the past has been maintained by the late Paul Larson (God’s Gardeners).
The proposed contract will cost between $100-150 per month for routine maintenance and a
fee of $50 per hour for repairing major damage to the irrigation lines. This company is
currently used by Trinity Episcopal Church.
Yvon reminded us that we are invited to attend on New Year's Day at 11:30 am St. Paul's Haitian congregation’s celebration of the Holy Name of Jesus, which is their Patronal Day. The Festive Eucharist begins at 11:30 am, followed by a feast in Trinity Hall.
The Vestry has had initial discussions with ECW over the possibility of combining our two outreach
programs. At this time, ECW is not inclined to combine the two efforts. Major sticking point for
ECW is the distribution of outreach funds. This item will be discussed further at our annual budget
meeting.
